How Legends Roofing Got Started
Legends Roofing was founded in 2021 after co-owners David McGehee and Taylor Braud met as neighbors in Abita Springs, Louisiana and quickly became close friends. With Taylor’s deep construction background and David’s business and operational experience, the two decided to start a roofing company as a side venture, driven by a shared commitment to quality and honest service. Just weeks after launching, Hurricane Ida struck the region, creating an urgent need for reliable roofing professionals. They began by helping homeowners in their own neighborhood, and through hard work, trust, and word-of-mouth referrals, Legends Roofing has grown into a trusted roofing company serving the Northshore and Baton Rouge areas.

Owner
Taylor Braud is a co-owner of Legends Roofing with over 20 years of construction experience, including building high-end custom homes in Baton Rouge for some of Louisiana’s most prominent families. A lifelong Louisiana native and LSU graduate, Taylor brings deep industry expertise and leadership, serving on the Home Builders Association board and overseeing sales and operations at Legends. He now lives in Abita Springs with his wife and three daughters, where he stays active coaching youth sports and supporting the local community. Taylor’s commitment to quality craftsmanship and honest service is at the core of every project Legends Roofing takes on.
Owner
David McGehee is a co-owner of Legends Roofing, bringing a diverse professional background spanning oil & gas, aerospace, chemicals, and beverage distribution. With an undergraduate degree from Texas A&M and an MBA from TCU, David leads marketing, finance, and strategic operations, ensuring the company runs efficiently and continues to grow. He relocated to Abita Springs in 2021 with his wife and two daughters and is deeply involved in his family, church, and community. David’s focus on structure, long-term strategy, and customer experience helps drive the strong foundation behind Legends Roofing’s success.
